This is the marketing site of L’AERIO, a trade name of LAERIO INC., an Ontario corporation. By visiting laerio.com, you agree to the terms that follow. They are short, plain, and meant to be read.

What this site is

A marketing presence. Information about who the house is, what it offers, the roster, and the writing. Nothing on this site is a contract, a quote, or an offer to do business unless the desk explicitly sends you one in writing, by email, signed.

The house’s content

The text, photographs, logos, and code on this site are owned by L’AERIO and protected by Canadian copyright law. You may quote short passages with attribution. You may not republish full essays without permission. You may not use the logos or wordmark without permission.

If you would like to license something for press use, the press kit at /press-kit has explicit license terms for journalists and outlets covering the house.

Your content

If you submit a form, send an email, or otherwise share content with the desk:

• You confirm you have the right to share it.
• You give the desk permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for, such as replying to you or considering an inquiry.
• The house will not republish your content without your consent.
• Your message is not training data for any model.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• Scrape the site at volume or with bots that ignore robots.txt.
• Attempt to access non-public parts of the site.

Indemnity

If your use of the site causes a claim against the house, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of defending it, except where the claim is caused by the house’s own negligence.

Changes

The house may update these terms occasionally. If you keep using the site after changes, you accept the new version. Material changes will be noted by updating the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, mentioned in the journal.

Disputes

Any dispute is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and resolved in Ontario courts. Small claims for under thirty-five thousand Canadian dollars, the Superior Court above that.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
